Green Man Festival 2017

Always a treat for the boozy vegan this year’s Green Man Festival is just a couple of days away and as usual there will be no shortage of craft beers and ciders we can drink. The biggest problem is finding time to try them all with so many bands to catch on the outstanding line-up!

This beer will be available in cask at GMF.

Pleased to see the return of @GripelBrewing as they have been a big favourite on previous years. I particularly recommend the Zoigl amber lager.

Another favourite @PIPES are making a welcome return and they get a special commendation for proudly stating that their beers are vegan on their profile.

Cider fans are well catered for as well with Apple County and Llanblethian confirming by email last year that their ciders are vegan and @halletscider by Twitter.

Thanks to @BigHandBrewing and @montysbreweryfor helpful responses this year.

I’ve contacted some of the other breweries on twitter or by email but have not had a reply yet. If I hear something before I disappear off to the land where 3G fears to tread I’ll update this blog.

New this year is some great news from @wilcol regarding wine.

Many thanks for that Will!

You won’t go hungry either if previous years are anything to go by with plenty of vegan friendly food stalls around the site. I highly recommend the beetroot and black bean burger from Dish Cafe if they are there this year.

Massive thanks, as always, to @GreenManFest for such a great vegan friendly festival with so many fine craft beers to choose from and for proving a list of breweries in advance!

See you at the bar! 🍻

Green Man 2016 Cider Update

Some good news for vegan cider drinkers heading to Green Man. Llanblethian Orchards have replied by email confirming that all their ciders are vegan friendly and Apple County Cider (@apple_countyco) have stated that all their still ciders are fine but the bottled sparkling is not.

Now all we need is some sunshine to go with all that lovely cider!

Vegan beer and cider at Green Man 2016

Just as it was last year Green Man Festival is again looking exceptional for the beer loving vegan with a wide variety of beers and ciders from numerous Welsh breweries available. Many of these have brews suitable for vegans and I look forward to trying as many as possible or at least as many as I can fit in in between seeing all the bands on my “must see” list!

Some of these tweets are from last year repeated here for convenience, if the brewery is making a return (post including breweries not present this year here), and some are new.

Untapped Brewing Co. (@untappedbrew) have confirmed by email that their beers are suitable.

A special shout out to PIPES BREWERY (@pipesbeer) for clearly stating on their profile page that their beer is vegan.

I haven’t been able to contact the other breweries listed on the Green Man page yet either due to not being able to find contact details or not receiving a response to questions on twitter or by email but will add an update here if I do hear something before disappearing off to the land of amazing music, beer and food but no 3G or Wi-Fi!

Thank you @GreenManFest for listing breweries in advance and for confirming that the splendidly named house cider waddlegoose is vegan.

As for the superb music line up I’m super excited for Haiku Salut, Julia Holter, Lush, Meilyr Jones, and many more!

See you on the barrier or at the bar!

Vegan Beer at Green Man

As many of the breweries heading for Green Man Festival are not currently listed on Barnivore I’ve been contacting them on twitter to find out if they have products suitable for vegans. It looks like there will be no shortage of delicious suitable beers at the festival and I look forward to sampling them all!

Thank you to @GreenManFest for the beer list and @TheWaenBrewery, @GeipelBrewing, @TudorBrewery, @ConwyBrewery, @HopcraftGazza and @CeltBeers for confirming they have suitable beers.

A special mention for PIPES BEER (@pipesbeer) for confirming on their profile that their beers are vegan.

If I get any more responses on twitter or by email I’ll post again. I’ll also send this information on to Barnivore.

See you on the barrier or at the bar!

Introducing veggiegigger.

Hello! I am a vegan that goes to a lot of gigs and festivals.

I’ll be posting photos and reviews of all the delicious food I find at festivals, information about the availability of drinks suitable for vegetarians and vegans and anything else I think is relevant.

There will probably be quite a bit of other random nonsense and lots of stuff about the music too.

WOMAD next week! Always a treat for a music loving vegan.
